Rigi Kulm
The Rigi (or ''Mount Rigi''; also known as ''Queen of the Mountains'') is a mountain massif of the Alps, located in Central Switzerland. The whole massif is almost entirely surrounded by the water of three different bodies of water: Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and Lake Lauerz. The range is in the Schwyzer Alps, and is split between the cantons of Schwyz and Lucerne, although the main summit, named ''Rigi Kulm'', at 1,797 meters above sea level, lies within the canton of Schwyz. The Rigi Kulm Hotel, established in 1816, is located on the summit. The Rigi Kulm and other areas, such as the resort of Rigi Kaltbad, are served by Europe's oldest mountain railways, the Rigi Railways. Unterkulm is a municipality in the district of Kulm in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. History Both Roman ruins near the church and late-Roman coins at Sonnenhof indicate that the area near Unterkulm was settled during the Roman era. However, Unterkulm is first mentioned in 1045 as ''Chulenbare'' though this is for both Unterkulm and Oberkulm. In 1303 it was mentioned as ''ze Nideren-Kulme'' which is the first mention of Unterkulm individually. Until 1566 Unter- and Oberkulm formed a tithe district (), though their political separation was probably earlier. The Harderkulm (also referred to as ''Harder Kulm'', since the top station of the funicular is called that way) is a funicular station at in the Bernese Highlands, ''Berner Oberland'' region of Switzerland, overlooking the towns of Interlaken and Unterseen. Kulm law, Culm law or Chełmno Law (; ; ) was a legal constitution for a municipal form of government used in several Central European cities in the Middle Ages and early modern period. It was initiated on 28 December 1233 in the Monastic State of the Teutonic Knights by Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Grand Master Hermann von Salza and Hermann Balk when the towns of Toruń (''Thorn'') and Chełmno (''Kulm'') received German town law, in particular as a modification of Magdeburg rights. Named after the town it was signed in, the original document (''Kulmer Handfeste'') was lost in 1244 when the town hall burned due to an attack by Świętopełk II, Duke of Pomerania. The renewed charter of 1 October 1251 was based on a copy in Toruń, but the rights were reduced. The town hall in Chełmno was the seat of the higher court of Chełmno law until 1458.
